Maxalli Blog | Natural ingredients, science, and routines
The aroma of burning copal and the tart sweetness of tamarind are not just part of our culture… they are also a unique sensory experience for your skin. This new Maxalli fragrance doesn't imitate what already exists: it reinvents what it means to smell clean, natural, and profoundly Mexican.
Dry skin may seem like a simple issue, but when it becomes constant, it can affect your comfort, your appearance, and even your skin barrier. Most products that promise to hydrate use petroleum-derived petroleum jelly, which only seals the skin, without nourishing it or allowing it to breathe.
When we launched our first multi-purpose ointment at Maxalli, we called it “petrolatum-free jelly.” We wanted to make it very clear that it had nothing to do with the typical petroleum jelly that many people still apply to their lips, elbows, or tattoos. But although the name was true to our vision, we soon noticed something: many people were confused.
The word botanical evokes plants, nature, and ancestral wisdom. But at Maxalli, it's not just talk: the botanical ointment we created is formulated with ingredients derived exclusively from plant sources, without petrolatum, mineral oils, or synthetic fragrances. Only functional actives that truly nourish and protect your skin.
In Mexico, it is common to associate the word "pomada" (ointment) with remedies for muscle aches, bruises, or stings. However, most of these ointments are formulated with petroleum jelly, mineral oil, cheap synthetic ingredients, and drugs which, while they may relieve symptoms, also carry risks of side effects, allergies, or the accumulation of non-biodegradable substances on the skin.
