Triacetin: the forgotten ingredient that transforms your skin starting with pH

triacetina. glicerina triacetato

There are ingredients that all brands repeat: glycerin, hyaluronic acid, aloe vera. But there are others that almost no one mentions, not because they don't work, but because they don't sound "pretty." One of them is triacetin.

At Maxalli, we decided to include it in our natural bioadaptive pomade because, unlike other humectants, triacetin not only hydrates—it also regulates your skin's pH and intelligently supports its natural balance.

What is triacetin?

Triacetin (also known as glycerol triacetate) is a glycerin ester. It sounds chemical, and it is. But it is also biodegradable, safe, and approved for food and cosmetic use.

The special thing about this ingredient is that, when applied to the skin, it naturally breaks down into acetic acid and glycerin. That is:

  • Acetic acid (vinegar) helps maintain the skin's slightly acidic pH, which is key for a healthy skin barrier.
  • Glycerin acts as a humectant, retaining water and improving hydration.

It's not magic. It's useful biochemistry.

Why don't other brands use it?

Because it's not "sexy." It doesn't have fame on TikTok nor does it look good in marketing campaigns.
And because most brands prefer to repeat ingredients that sound familiar, even if they do little.

Maxalli doesn't seek to impress with trends. It seeks real functionality. That's why triacetin is in our formula, even if no one asks for it by name.

In which product do you find it?

We use it in the natural bioadaptive pomade, a modern alternative to traditional body creams.
Ideal for:

  • Face and lips with dry or dehydrated skin
  • Hands that dry out with the weather
  • Sensitive areas such as elbows, neck, lips, or eye contour

All without fragrance, without colorants, and with a light texture. Few ingredients, but each with real benefit.
