More Than Natural: Maxalli's Fragrance Philosophy
At Maxalli, we don't pursue the obvious.
We don’t believe that “100% natural” automatically means “100% better.”
We ask ourselves a deeper question:
How do we create fragrances that respect your skin, your identity, and the planet — without sacrificing performance, innovation, or beauty?
The answer is clear:
We combine the best of nature with the best of biotechnology.
Nature Inspires Us (but doesn't limit us)
We work with essential oils, botanical extracts, resins, and natural raw materials because they are beautiful, complex, and vibrant.
Essential Oils Used By Maxalli
We use essential oils of orange, lemon, rosemary, tea tree, lavender, ginger, Texas cedar, clove, citronella, peppermint, eucalyptus, bergamot, cinnamon, palmarosa, thyme, pine, cypress, patchouli, frankincense, myrrh, star anise, nutmeg, pepper, balsam fir, wintergreen, spearmint and more...
But we also know something few people say:
-
Many essential oils have a huge environmental impact.
For example, natural vanilla and sandalwood require extensive plantations, monocultures, and intensive labor that affect biodiversity. -
Popular natural fragrances originally came from animals.
Like musk (from the glands of male musk deer) and ambergris (a secretion from the intestines of sperm whales). -
Not all natural ingredients are sustainable, nor are all synthetics harmful.
Sometimes, a laboratory-made scent has a much smaller ecological footprint than its naturally extracted counterpart.
And even more:
-
It oxidizes.
-
It irritates more easily and carries a higher risk of allergy.
-
And often… it’s predictable.
For example, did you know that the maximum limit for cinnamaldehyde, the main component of cinnamon, is regulated by IFRA as 0.014% maximum of the final product for deodorants? The reason: DERMAL SENSITIZATION AND SYSTEMIC TOXICITY
That's why we don't limit ourselves to "natural."
We seek what is intelligent.
Biotechnology Expands Us
We use biodegradable molecules, from renewable sources (such as sugar or plant fermentation), designed with clean biotechnology to:
-
Extend skin longevity.
-
Add modern facets (mineral amber, transparent wood, clean musk).
-
Reduce reliance on overexploited natural resources.
For example, methyl anthranilate, a molecule found in grapes that gives them their characteristic aroma, can be produced from microorganism fermentation starting from petitgrain tangerine leaf oil (Citrus reticulata).
This is how we achieve fragrances that not only smell good, but also respect a broader balance.
Safety and Regulation
All our fragrances are designed with the following as reference:
-
The guidelines of IFRA (International Fragrance Association),
the global authority that regulates the safe use of aromatic materials in cosmetics, candles, and perfumes. -
The principles of Safer Choice (EPA, USA),
a program that evaluates ingredients for their environmental and human health impact, seeking more responsible formulas.
This means:
-Prioritized dermatological safety
-Ingredients selected not just for fashion, but for impact
-Commitment, not empty marketing
Renewable and Upcycled Ingredients
Some of the molecules we use come from renewable and upcycling processes.
For example, they are obtained from plant raw materials like sugar cane, or are recovered by-products (waste) from other natural industries, created with green chemistry.
This allows us to reduce dependence on fossil resources and minimize waste, while creating high-performance aromas.
Phthalate-Free
All our fragrances are completely phthalate-free.
We choose ingredients that comply with international safety standards (such as IFRA) and prioritize clean and responsible alternatives to care for your skin and the planet.
Biodegradable Scents
Our molecules are sourced from specialized suppliers who use cutting-edge technology to ensure that their raw materials have biodegradability and safety tests and certifications, guaranteeing that once they end up in the environment, they will decompose into CO2, water, and organic matter.
Maxalli Is Not Market Perfume — It's Smart Perfume
The term “natural fragrance” has no official or regulatory definition.
Many brands use it as an empty label.
We prefer to say it clearly:
Natural but better.
We are 100% Maxalli: conscious design, formulated to act, made to last. #ReprogrammedNature
